In testing, I didn't find my arm tiring especially quickly, and the included Surface Pen goes a long way in making the tablet more viable to use while holding in one hand. As with the Surface Pro 3, clicking the eraser button on the Surface Pen brings up OneNote instantly, which still works like a charm. You can also double-click the Surface Pen to take a screenshot, which you can crop and draw on right away in OneNote. Holding down the eraser button now also brings up Cortana, a digital assistant that can help you with searches, set reminders, manage your calendar, and more. Typing on a virtual keyboard is never ideal, and the Surface Pen can take your real handwriting and turn it into text. In testing, this feature was a bit hit and miss and greatly depends on the neatness of your penmanship, but it gets the job done once you learn the shortcuts. The Surface Pen feels great to use on the touch screen, with a real sense of pressure line thickness will change depending how hard you press and a working eraser. The somewhat silly loop for storing the pen on the Surface Pro 3's Type Cover is gone; instead you can attach the pen magnetically to the left or right side of the Surface Pro 4. The Type Cover is superior to the last iteration in every regard. The backlit keys are more spread out, and have better travel. The touchpad in particular is hugely improved—it's bigger, much more sensitive, and feels a lot smoother to scroll across. The magnetic latch that secures the keyboard to the display introduced on the Pro 3 Type Cover for use on your lap is even more secure than in the previous iteration, and the Type Cover is also lighter at just pounds. The new Type Cover works with the Surface Pro 3, and vice versa. Microsoft would have a real homerun on its hands if it includes Type Cover with the Surface Pro 4 I can't see why you would bother with the system without one, but for now they must still be purchased separately. The tablet features Windows Hello, facial-recognition software that's built into Windows 10 and saves you the trouble of typing in a password every time you reach for the device, and will protect it from falling into the wrong hands. There's also an 8-megapixel, rear-facing camera that can record in 1080p. The image quality of test photos was good, not great, but videos recorded with the rear camera were particularly sharp in testing. The system has a USB port, a Surface Connect port for the new Surface Dock, and a microSD card reader on the right side and a headphone jack on the left. The Power button and the volume rocker are on top of the tablet, and the port for the keyboard is on the bottom. An additional USB port would have gone a long way—it's disappointing Microsoft chose to stick with just one, which is an issue we had with the Pro 3. The Surface Pro 4 features stereo Dolby speakers, which don't have visible grilles and instead produce sound from the interior of the tablet and through the ventilation. They can get pretty loud, and don't lose too much quality at high volumes. There is also an accelerometer and a gyroscope. For wireless connectivity, you get Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Microsoft backs the product with a one-year warranty. Performance With its Intel Core i5-6300U processor and 8GB of memory, the Surface Pro 4 is generally very snappy, booting up very quickly and running smoothly. Its productivity performance is solid, at 2,612 points on the PCMark 8 Work Conventional test. It’s intended as a more digestible summary of our full-length review, in that it shouldn’t take more than half a minute to Surface Pro 4 has been followed up twice now – first by the Surface Pro 2017, then the Surface Pro 6. However, it’s still worth your consideration. This is because, back when it was released nearly four years ago, the Surface Pro 4 was heralded as the natural progression of the Surface Pro reign. And, today, it’s easy to see the influence it had on the subsequent Surface the Surface Pro 3, which ran on Windows the Surface Pro 4 runs on Windows 10 out of the box. Ini dilakukan dengan mengecilkan saiz bazel pada sisi peranti. Resolusi skrin turut meningkat kepada 2736 x1824 pixel. Nisbah skrin adalah 32 sama seperti Pro 3 dan iPad. Terdapat beberapa pilihan pemproses iaitu Intel Core M3, Core i5 dan Core i7 yang kesemuanya dari generasi ke-enam. Pilihan saiz RAM pula adalah 4, 8 dan 16 Gigabyte. Akhir sekali pilihan muatan dalaman adalah 128, 256 512 Gigabyte. Bateri sebesar 5087 mAh 42 Wh digunakan untuk mengusai peranti dan ini menurut Microsoft dapat memberikan hayat penggunaan sehingga 9 jam. Kemampuan optik pula ialah kamera belakang sebesar 8 Megapixel dan kamera hadapan sebesar 5 Megapixel. Dari segi bentuk memang tidak ada perbezaan dari segi saiz dengan Pro 3. Kami menyedari hanya beberapa perubahan pada kedudukan butang kuasa dan suara. Kedua-dua butang ini terletak di atas peranti. Sebelum ini butang suara terletak di sebelah kiri. Lokasi butang suara diubah bagi membolehkan Surface Pen dilekatkan pada bahagian sisi peranti apabila tidak digunakan. Ianya melekap secara magnetik dan magnet yang digunakan cukup kuat untuk memastikan ia tidak terjatuh walaupun peranti digoncang. Sekiranya anda mahu Surface Pen turut boleh dilekatkan ke bahagian kanan. Turut terdapat pada sisi kiri peranti ialah satu bicu fon kepala Pada bahagian kanan terdapat satu port USB satu port Mini Display dan port pengecasan. Di bahagian bawah terdapat dok sambungan magnetik untuk Type Cover. Pada bahagian atas terdapat ruang udara untuk sistem penyejukan hibrid Pro 4. Dua pembesar suara stereo terletak di bahagian hadapan yang menyokong sistem audio Dolby. Butang Windows kapasitif yang dahulunya terletak di sebelah kanan ataupun bawah sekiranya di dalam kedudukan menegak tidak lagi disertakan. Tetongkat boleh laras terletak di bahagian belakang. Seperti pada Pro 3, engsel tetongkat ini boleh ditetapkan mengikut kemahuan pengguna. Logo Microsoft yang diperbuat daripada logam menggantikan perkataan Surface pada permukaan tetongkat ini sekarang. Type Cover – Papan Kekunci & Pad Sesentuh Papan kekunci Type Cover kini mempunyai kekunci dari jenis chicklet. Antara perkara yang kami kurang gemari pada Type Cover sebelum ini ialah kekunci yang terlalu rapat di antara satu sama lain. Kami sudah biasa menggunakan papan kekunci chicklet pada komputer riba dan rekaan baru Type Cover ini sangat kami gemari. Menaip dapat dilakukan dengan lebih pantas dan jitu. Timbal balas yang diberikan oleh kekunci juga terasa lebih teguh dan tidak terasa seperti terlalu plastik seperti model terdahulu. Sokongan lampu masih lagi disertakan bagi memudahkan proses menaip di waktu malam. Pad sesentuh juga tidak ketinggalan diberikan penambahbaikan. Permukaannya diperbuat daripada kaca dan terasa lebih licin apabila digunakan. Saiznya juga diubah dan kali ini lebih lebar. Kami sedari pad sesentuh ini juga terasa lebih jitu dan lancar untuk digunakan. Pada model sebelum ini kami merungut pad sesentuh gagal mengesan tekanan dan pergerakan jari dengan baik. Nampaknya rungutan kami didengari Microsoft dan penambahbaikan diberikan. Sungguhpun penambahbaikan dilakukan dan Type Cover terasa lebih baik berbanding model sebelum ini, dari segi keselesaan ia masih belum setanding papan kekunci pada sebuah komputer riba sebenar. Penanda aras keselesaan komputer Windows 10 di Amanz sekarang ialah HP Spectre x360. Jika papan kekunci dan pad sesentuh kedua-dua peranti ini dibandingkan, Specte x360 kami rasakan lebih selesa. Kekunci terasa lebih teguh dengan timbal balas yang lebih mantap. Apabila menaip dengan Type Cover dinaikkan dengan menyambung panel magnetik pada bazel Surface Pro 4, papan kekunci melentur dengan setiap tekanan jari. Akibatkan kami kurang selesa menaip pada posisi ini. Ini sekaligus membuatkan menaip dengan Surface Pro 4 di atas paha juga menjadi kurang selesa. Pada model Surface Pro 5 kelak kami berharap keselesaan menaip dan tahap kekerasan Type Cover boleh diperbaiki lagi untuk spesis manusia yang menaip dengan tekanan kuat seperti kami. Stylus Surface Pen Akhir sekali ialah Surface Pen baharu yang kini boleh dilekatkan secara magnetik pada tubuh Pro 4. Salah satu sisi stylus ini adalah rata bagi memudahkan ia bersambung dengan mudah. Dengan 1024 tahap keperincian, Surface Pen ini empat kali ganda lebih sensitif berbanding model sebelum ini. Butang khas untuk melakukan klik kanannya juga jauh lebih besar. Pada bahagian belakang masih terdapat butang untuk melancarkan One Note dengan pantas. Kini butang yang sama apabila ditekan akan mengaktifkan Cortana. Akhir sekali stylus ini turut mempunyai pemadam digital untuk menjadikan proses lakaran lebih semula jadi. Di Bawah ialah contoh lakaran wajah kami yang dilakukan oleh seorang teman media. Pembesar Suara Kami akan menyentuh sedikit tentang kemampuan audio Surface Pro 4. Sejak dari dahulu pembesar suara yang melontar ke hadapan komputer tablet keluarga Surface kami rasakan tidak menghasilkan kualiti bunyi yang memuaskan. Bunyi yang keluar akan mudah tenggelam dan sukar didengari apabila digunakan di kawasan terbuka. Microsoft membawa pembaharuan pada pemproses, kamera, tetongkat, pengecas dan tempat simpanan stylus namun kemampuan audio seperti dilupakan. Sekali lagi kami menggesa pengeluar komputer riba terutamanya Microsoft untuk meminjam teknologi BoomSound keluaran HTC. HTC berjaya menghasilkan sistem audio stereo lontaran hadapan yang bukan sahaja lantang dan jelas malah mempunyai kualiti bass yang mantap. Jika pembesar suara BoomSound pada sebuah peranti pintar kecil boleh menghasilkan kualiti audio yang baik, mengapa komputer riba dengan ruang untuk pembesar suara lebih besar gagal melakukannya? Teknologi audio kompak dengan kualiti yang baik sudah lama wujud. Mengapa ia tidak digunapakai pada komputer riba adalah antara misteri yang tidak mampu kami jawab. Penanda Aras Pemproses Intel Core i5-6300U yang memperkasakan Surface Pro 4 yang kami ulas adalah dari generasi terkini. Jadi adalah sedikit aneh melihat markah penanda aras 3DMark dan PCMark yang kami lakukan adalah lebih dari apa yang dicatatkan pada HP Spectre x360 yang diperkasakan Intel Core i5-5200U. Sungguhpun begitu perbezaan markah antara dua pemproses ini tidak terlalu besar sehingga boleh dianggap penurunan prestasi yang mendadak. Bagaimanakah Surface Pro 4 berfungsi dalam kegunaan seharian? Seperti kesemua komputer Windows 10 yang kami cuba tahu ini, kami sedari kesemuanya berjalan dengan cukup lancar. Tiada masalah sela masa ataupun kegagalan melancarkan program dengan baik. Surface Pro 4 yang kami uji berjaya melakukan kesemua program dan tugasan dengan cukup lancar. Tubuh peranti menjadi sedikit hangat ketika melakukan suntingan video, namun posisi pemproses yang terletak di bucu atas sebelah kanan memastikan ia jauh dari papan kekunci dan tubuh apabila digunakan pada posisi menegak. Tiada masalah ketidakselesaan akibat peranti menjadi panas ketika digunakan di sini. Bateri Bateri sebesar 5087 mAh 42 Wh digunakan pada model Surface Pro 4 dengan Intel Core i5 yang kami ulas. Apabila membaca spesifikasi peranti pada hari pelancaran, saiz bateri yang agak kecil menjadi kerisauan utama kami. Kerisauan menjadi realiti apabila kami mendapati Surface Pro 4 hanya mampu bertahan sekitar 7 jam pada pengguna harian kami. Kerana keperluan menghasilkan peranti yang kompak, bateri yang lebih besar tidak digunakan. Sebelum ini kami ada mengulas Hewlett Packard Spectre X360 yang mempunyai spesifikasi setanding. Bateri pada komputer riba 4 dalam 1 ini adalah sebesar 56 Wh dan mampu bertahan melebihi 9 jam. Antara kelemahan paling nyata Surface sejak dari dahulu ialah hayat bateri yang pendek. Pastikan anda sentiasa membawa kabel pengecas apabila menggunakan Surface Pro 4. Pesaing Pesaing paling hampir kepada Surface Pro 4 di pasaran sekarang ialah Apple iPad Pro. Kedua-dua komputer tablet ini mensasarkan golongan pengguna yang sama. Harga jualan juga tidak terlalu besar bezanya. Kami memasukkan Hewlett Packard Spectre x360 di dalam perbandingan ini kerana ia boleh berubah menjadi sebuah komputer tablet. Ia juga bole dijadikan kayu pengukur spesifikasi dan harga jualan. Perubahan paling ketara ialah akhirnya wujud sistem untuk menyimpan stylus secara magnetik dan akhirnya sebuah sistem operasi yang benar-benar dioptimasikan untuk sebuah komputer tablet. Pada hemat kami Surface Pro 4 masih lagi raja segala komputer tablet. Ia masih cukup kompak untuk dibawa di dalam tangan tanpa memerlukan beg galas seperti sebuah komputer riba. Masih cukup ringan, hanya sedikit berat jika dibandingkan dengan sebuah iPad Pro 786 gram vs 713 gram. Sungguhpun begitu kemampuan memproses dan kebolehgunaannya untuk melakukan tugasan pejabat adalah setanding dengan komputer riba yang mempunyai spesifikasi setanding. Kekuatan utama Surface Pro 4 terletak pada sistem operasi Windows 10 yang digunakan. Jelas sekali sistem operasi ini memang paling cocok digandingkan dengan sebuah komputer tablet dengan skrin sesentuh. Harus kami katakan selepas menggunakan komputer tablet ini terasa sedikit canggung untuk kembali kepada sistem operasi Windows versi terdahulu dan komputer tanpa sokongan skrin sesentuh. Mahu melakukan suntingan video? Tiada masalah kerana ia dilengkapi sistem operasi 64 Bit sekaligus menyokong saiz RAM yang mencukupi untuk menggunakan Premiere Pro CC. Mahu lakukan suntingan gambar? Mengawal paparan skrin, melakar menggunakan stylus dan memanipulasi foto dengan lancar menggunakan Photoshop CC mampu dilakukan. Agak menakjubkan kemampuan Surface Pro 4 ini hampir setanding dengan komputer desktop yang kami gunakan di rumah. Fungsi paling menarik dan unik ialah Windows Hello. Kemampuan menyahkunci komputer hanya dengan memandang skrin. Kamera Intel RealSense 3D yang digunakan mampu mengesan wajah pengguna walaupun di dalam gelap. Kepada mereka yang tidak gemar untuk memasukkan kata laluan dan pin keselamatan, Windows Hello ialah jawapan kepada sistem sekuriti biometrik yang anda mahukan selama ini. Perubahan pada rekaan papan kekunci Type Cover walaupun kecil mempermudahkan lagi proses menaip. Papan kekunci kini menggunakan rekaan chicklet dan tidak lagi bersambung. Masalah menekan kekunci yang salah yang sebelum ini pernah kami alami tidak lagi dialami. Pad sesentuh juga kini mempunyai permukaan kaca yang melancarkan pergerakan jari. Jauh berbeza dengan rekaan model terdahulu yang tidak berapa jitu mengesan pergerakan dan tekanan jari. Tidak seperti di Amerika Syarikat, Type Cover di Malaysia tidak pula mempunyai pengimbas cap jari. Namun ketiadaan ini tidak berapa dirasai kerana Windows Hello adalah cukup memadai. Bagaimana pula dengan kelemahan? Papan kekunci yang diperbuat daripada bahan plastik ini masih nipis dan akan melentur apabila digunakan. Kerana bahan plastik yang sama, timbal balas tampaknya juga tidak sebaik sebuah papan kekunci komputer riba sebenar. Tambahan lagi menaip pada Surfacer Pro 4 di atas paha menggunakan menongkatkan boleh laras yang disertakan masih belum di tahap yang sama seperti menaip pada komputer riba sebenar. Di akhir hari Surface Pro 4 masih lagi komputer terbaik di dalam kelasnya. Ia boleh diandalkan untuk melakukan tugasan pejabat dan menjadi tablet santai menonton siri TV. Ia mampu melakukan kesemua ini walaupun mempunyai saiz yang kompak. Tidak mengejutkan tahun lalu data menunjukkan peranti Surface semakin banyak dijual sehingga mengakibatkan jualan iPad mengalami penurunan mendadak. Jika anda mahukan sebuah komputer tablet yang selesa digunakan untuk kerja dan santai, Surface Pro 4 ialah yang teratas di dalam senarai peranti yang kami sarankan. PRO dan Kelebihan Rekaan yang sangat kemas, premium dan berkualiti. Ia nampak cukup bergaya. Paparan skrin PixelSense amat tajam dan antara yang terbaik pada sebuah komputer tablet. Spesifikasi yang baik untuk kegunaan pejabat. Cukup berkuasa untuk menggunakan aplikasi grafik seperti Photoshop dan Premiere Pro. Papan kekunci Type Cover dikemas kini. Kekunci kini tidak lagi tercantum rapat. Memudahkan proses menaip. Pad sesentuh berkaca lebih responsif. Kamera Intel RealSense 3D membolehkan tablet dinyahkunci dengan menggunakan wajah pengguna. KONTRA dan Kekurangan Papan kekunci masih lagi tidak selesa seperti sebuah komputer riba sebenar. Melengkung apabila ditekan dengan kuat. Hanya satu port USB Bateri hanya bertahan sekitar 7 jam. Type Cover perlu dibeli berasingan.
